We asked Richard McKay who is the field organizer with Penn Action why they are spending so much money on advertising and not on healthcare.
"What we need to do is raise the awareness for the need for a comprehensive insurance reform in 2009 and it has to be stressed to all the candidates who are running, it has to be stressed to the American people," says Richard McVay, the Field Organizer Penn Action.

A coalition of local groups today called for health care reforms as part of a national campaign aimed at making quality, affordable health care available to every American.
At a news conference at the United Steelworkers Building, Downtown, William Belt, president of Allegheny County's Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN, called for giving consumers the option of keeping their current coverage through a private insurance plan or having the choice of other private or public plans, with standardized, comprehensive benefits at a price based on their incomes.
"We're offering a bold new solution that gives you real choice and a guarantee of quality coverage you can afford," he said.

Philadelphia, PA - Choices, lower costs, and less paperwork. Those are three of the goals of a campaign kicking off today in Pennsylvania, aimed at getting health care reform in place as soon as possible.
Jeff Garis with Penn Action says there's a long list of businesses, medical professionals, and other interested groups involved, because the crisis has become so severe.
"We need to have guaranteed coverage and care. It's got to be affordable based on what people can pay. People should be able to have a choice of health insurance plans."
